Membership
What is a Co-op?
Simply put, a cooperative nursery is one where the parents participate fully
in the school's program - from hiring the teacher to assisting in the
classroom.
Being part of a co-op demands time and energy, but the rewards are well worth the investments. Co-op parents learn from each other, support each other and develop close and lasting friendships. It is a unique experience for children and parents.
Assisting
Four parents assist the teacher in the classroom each day, which means assist days average 10-12 times a semester. Assist parents (designated A, B, C, or D) help set up, supervise projects and play, and clean up. Positions rotate over the course of the semester and parents are thoroughly trained in the duties of each assist role.
Job Assignment
Each member is assigned a job for the year. A sampling of jobs are: pet care, shopping, photography, bulletin boards, and church liaison.
